Hello all,
I am currently in college and am looking for the best way to record a lecture. I have a plexTalk Pocket and a BraillePlus. However, I do not have an external microphone. Also, I have GoldWave on my computers, but do not understand how to edit recordings. Does anyone know how I can purchase a microphone that will cance out background noise and focus on the professor talking?

you don't need to cancel out all the background noise. If you have an ios device you can record, or you can use your plextalk.
Seeings to the ariginal poster I do not know you or what phone you have, you could use High Q recorder for android, it would work fine. Its very clear and high quality, records at 128 or a little more.

on i phone, you could use voice memos. I do that alot. I dont know much about the plex but I used to use a victor stream to record. th e only bummer about it, and why i stopped using it, was that it would say low battery in the middle of class. no fun!
i uses my IPhone for recording quite a bit. But that depends on what ssize of lecture theator you in. if you in a big lecture theator, i mean, more than 100 people, you might be better off with one of those dedicated Olympus recorder. Its clearer, and their quite accessible and affordable. They also produce great audio quality. You'll get similar result with pocket PlexTalk and IPhone however, if you want to go of any of either the IPhone or PlexTalk, and also androw, you might want to invest in a pin on microphone, like those that journalist have, and ask your lecturer to have them pin on his/her shirt when they are lecturering to get the best result. Same goes for the Olympus recorder, but i honestly think you get a better result from Olympus recorder, even without the External microphone. Some Olympus model you might want to consider is like the DM and DS series.
Okay, so the weird thing about the Pocket is that it puts weird names like a0001 for the.mp3 file. Is there a way to change this?
